What we do
Forensic Interviews
We provide neutral, child-friendly forensic interviews designed to ensure children feel safe and heard during the investigative process. Our trained professionals conduct these interviews in a supportive environment using non-leading techniques that prioritize the child’s comfort and emotional well-being.
Therapy & Counseling Services
Healing begins with support. We offer free therapy and counseling for child victims of abuse and their non-offending family members. Our licensed mental health professionals provide trauma-informed care to help children process their experiences and begin the path to recovery.
Community Education & Prevention
Empowering our community is key to ending abuse. Through outreach programs, presentations, and training, we educate children, parents, and professionals on how to recognize, report, and prevent child abuse. Awareness saves lives—and we’re here to spread the message.
Family Advocacy
Our Family Advocacy team provides immediate support to children and families following the forensic interview. This includes screening for trauma and suicide risk, connecting families to appropriate mental health services, and ensuring each child receives the care they need without delay. Two Clinical Advocates are available on-site to conduct assessments in real time—helping guide every child and caregiver toward safety, stability, and healing.

A Safe Place for Every Child’s Voice to Be Heard
Our story
Since opening our doors in 1998, the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Cameron & Willacy Counties (CACCWC) has remained steadfast in our mission: to serve and advocate for child victims of abuse through education, prevention, intervention, and recovery.
Born from the need to provide a coordinated, compassionate response to child abuse, we have grown into a place where hope and healing begin. By bringing together law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors, and medical and mental health professionals under one roof, we ensure children only have to tell their story once—in a safe, supportive, and child-focused environment.
With every interview conducted, every counseling session offered, and every resource provided, we work to restore trust, dignity, and safety in the lives of the children we serve. Our work is more than a mission—it’s a commitment to creating a community where every child is protected, respected, and valued.
